When we talked about using Thrifty Thursday for tips & thoughts, the first thing that came to mind was to CARRY A LIST. I'm a big fan (addict) of lists. I should probably have a list to keep track of my lists. My family makes fun of me for my lists, but I am not deterred!
I keep track of clothing & shoe sizes, favorite brands, favorite authors, etc. I also list specific items that I'm looking for, or anything that someone has asked me to "be on the look-out" for. My current "hot item" is this slotted spoon/ladle. My sister found ONE and it is an amazing little kitchen gadget. I know I could buy one NEW, but the thrill of the
My second thought for Thrifty Thursday is to keep an open mind when shopping at a thrift store ~ try to see the potential of an item, not just it's current condition or appearance. For instance...my sister & I are working on a birthday party for her soon-to-be 5 year old. It's a pirate theme & the other day, I picked up an "old school" lunch box (the rounded top, black metal one) & told her that I saw a "treasure chest" in our future! $1, some paint & a few hours later, we have another treasure chest for the party! (we'll post pictures in a future post, about thrifted party items) I wasn't going to mention it, but dear sister passed over a lunch box just like this one earlier in the day. We went back to the store a couple days later to buy it, but it was gone. (it's ok, we all miss a good buy now & then)
Well, it's time to take care of some chores!
